MIPIM – Marché International des Professionnels de l’immobilier (Cannes)

Initiated in 1990, MIPIM is a 4-day event at which influential stakeholders from all areas of the international real estate market meet. The Senate Department for Urban Development, Building and Housing regularly presents particularly outstanding Berlin urban development projects at the annually held exhibition. It also contributes its expertise by giving talks in the accompanying conference programme. The Senate Department also uses the exhibition to find out about new developments within the policy field of urban development and to make contacts.

Expo Real (Munich)

The International Trade Fair for Property and Investment takes place each October. Since 1998, the EXPO REAL has hosted the entire industry for three days each year. Here, too, the Senate Department for Urban Development, Building and Housing regularly presents particular projects implemented in Berlin and finds out about what’s new in urban development.

Seoul-Biennale

The Seoul Biennale is an architecture and urbanism exhibition held every two years. Here the cities of the world present their lighthouse urban planning projects. Berlin took part for the first time in 2019. The participation project, the “House of Statistics” enjoyed major international attention. Following its successful maiden appearance, Berlin’s renewed participation in 2021 is a feasible proposition.

Delegations

The Senate Department for Urban Development, Building and Housing regularly welcomes delegations from foreign authorities and holds talks in which the guests are informed about the House’s urban development topics. In 2019, 52 delegations from 21 countries visited the Senate Department.
